Ambassador and communications training

Agriculture has a wonderful story to tell, and we want to help you spread the word. Annually, Farm & Food Care staff speak to dozens of rural and urban audiences on issues related to food and farming. Topics include (but are not limited to):

Speak UP training (for audiences of up to 100):  Training gives participants the ability to tell their stories in an easy-to-understand and compelling manner. This could be of use in media interviews, in farm tours, at council meetings, to service club members, school groups and more.

Media Training/Crisis Communications training (up to 10 participants):  Includes facilitators, videographer and course materials): This day-long session will be interactive and give the participants an understanding of the media, the tools needed to prepare to face the media and an interview process that will give each person real life interview experience.

The Real Dirt on Farming Presentation Skills training (up to 25 participants): This training is designed to encourage those involved in agriculture to tell THEIR stories – what they do and why they do it – to non-farming audiences. The day-long workshops include a review of Microsoft Power Point slides based on The Real Dirt on Farming booklet; how to customize slides to include your story; speaking and presentation tips and techniques; how to answer the tough questions; and how to find speaking opportunities in your area.
